- صِلات (بالإنجليزية: Connections) (تُلفظ كونكشنز) هي سلسلة وثائقية من 10 حلقات، أبدعها وألفها وكتبها مؤرخ العلوم جيمس بيرك الذي ألف كذلك كتابًا يحمل العنوان نفسه في 1978. أنتج السلسلة وأخرجها ميك جاكسون من قسم الشؤون العلمية في قناة بي بي سي، وأذيعت للمرة الأولى في بريطانيا عام 1978 ثم في الولايات المتحدة عام 1979. اتخذت السلسلة نهجًا متعدد التخصصات في مناقشة تاريخ العلوم والاختراع، وكيف أدّت مختلف الاكتشافات والانجازات العلمية والأحداث التاريخية التي شهدها العالم على التوالي وبشكل مترابط إلى تطوير التكنولوجيا في عصرنا الحديث. أبرز ما ميز السلسلة هو العرض الآسر والحماسي لجيمس بيرك (وحسه الفكاهي أيضًا).أدى النجاح الشعبي للسلسلة إلى إنتاج «عندما تغير العالم» (1985)، وهو برنامج مشابه يناقش مختلف الاكتشافات العلمية الهامة بطريقة تسلسلية. بعدها بسنوات، أنتجت قناة تي إل سي صلات2 (1994) و صلات3 (1997). في عام 2004، أعدّت KCSM-TV برنامجًا يسمى Re-Connections الذي يضم مقابلة مع «جيمس بيرك» واعادة بث أهم محطات السلسلة الوثائقية، احتفالًا بالذكرى الخامسة والعشرين للبث الأول في الولايات المتحدة على بي بي إس. - Connections is a science education television series created, written, and presented by British science historian James Burke. The series was produced and directed by Mick Jackson of the BBC Science and Features Department and first aired in 1978 (UK) and 1979 (US). It took an interdisciplinary approach to the history of science and invention, and demonstrated how various discoveries, scientific achievements, and historical world events were built from one another successively in an interconnected way to bring about particular aspects of modern technology. The series was noted for Burke's crisp and enthusiastic presentation (and dry humour), historical re-enactments, and intricate working models. The popular success of the series led to the production of The Day the Universe Changed (1985), a similar program but showing a more linear history of several important scientific developments. Years later, the success in syndication led to two sequels, Connections2 (1994) and Connections3 (1997), both for TLC. In 2004, KCSM-TV produced a program called Re-Connections, consisting of an interview of Burke and highlights of the original series, for the 25th anniversary of the first broadcast in the US on PBS.
