- The Indonesia omnibus law protests (previously known as omnibus bill protests and referred colloquially as the omnibus law protests or anti-omnibus law protests; Indonesian: unjuk rasa tolak omnibus law) were a series of demonstrations and civil disorder against Indonesia's Omnibus Law on Job Creation which was passed on 5 October 2020 as well as President Joko Widodo. Demonstrations had begun on 13 January 2020 while the then-bill, claimed by the government as vital to boosting the country's manufacturing industry and foreign investment, was still being drafted. - Unjuk rasa Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja (atau lebih dikenal sebagai unjuk rasa tolak omnibus law) adalah rangkaian aksi unjuk rasa yang dilaksanakan sejak Januari 2020 untuk menolak diberlakukannya undang-undang sapu jagat Cipta Kerja yang disusun oleh Pemerintah dan Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia. Pemerintah beralasan bahwa penetapan undang-undang sapu jagat ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan lapangan kerja dan meningkatkan investasi asing dan dalam negeri dengan mengurangi persyaratan peraturan untuk izin usaha dan proses pembebasan lahan. Di sisi lain, para pengunjuk rasa memprotes materi undang-undang sapu jagat yang masih belum matang sehingga merugikan banyak pihak. Mereka juga mempertanyakan kepentingan pembahasan undang-undang ini setelah rancangan undang-undang yang lebih penting untuk disahkan, seperti Rancangan Undang-Undang Penghapusan Kekerasan Seksual, ditarik dari pembahasan DPR. Terlepas dari protes dan kritikan keras yang diterima, RUU tersebut disahkan pada 5 Oktober 2020. Beberapa jam sebelum pengesahan, sebuah surat dikirim oleh 35 perusahaan investasi untuk memperingatkan pemerintah tentang konsekuensi merugikan dari RUU tersebut terhadap lingkungan. (in)
