- مولفورد بيتمان فوستر (ولد في 25 ديسمبر عام 1888 وتوفي في 28 أغسطس عام 1978) كان عالم نباتات معروف لدى الكثيرين باسم «أبو البروميلياد» إذ كان له الفضل في اكتشاف وجلب العديد من أنواع فصيلة نبات البروميلياد إلى الولايات المتحدة. كرّس حياته أيضًا للتهجين وساهم على نطاق واسع في تقديم المعرفة حول أنواع النباتات. كان رجلًا يتمتع بالعديد من المواهب، من بينها كونه عالمًا طبيعيًا، وكاتبًا، ومستكشفًا، ومصوّرًا، وفنانًا، وبستانيًا ومهندس مناظر طبيعية معروف في فلوريدا. سميت العديد من نباتات البروميلياد التي تم العثور عليها اليوم بأسماء العديد من أفراد عائلة فوستر، كما تم تسمية جنس الفوستريلا تكريمًا لعمله. - Mulford Bateman Foster ( 25 de diciembre de 1888–28 de agosto de 1978) fue un polímata, arquitecto y naturalista conocido por muchos como el "Padre de la bromelias", siendo instrumental en el descubrimiento y la introducción de muchas nuevas especies de bromeliáceas a los EE. UU. También dedicó su vida a la hibridación y contribuyó ampliamente al conocimiento de especies vegetales. Fue explorador, escritor, fotógrafo, artista, horticultor y arquitecto de paisajes muy respetado en Florida. Numerosas plantas bromelias hoy en día llevan el nombre de varios miembros de la familia Foster; y el género Fosterella es el nombre en honor de su obra. (es)
- Mulford Bateman Foster (December 25, 1888 – August 28, 1978) was a botanist known by many as the "Father of the Bromeliad" as he was instrumental in the discovery and introduction of many new species of Bromeliad to the United States. He also devoted his life to hybridizing and contributed widely to the knowledge of the plant species. He was a man of many talents including naturalist, explorer, writer, photographer, artist, horticulturist and a well-respected landscape architect in Florida. Numerous bromeliad plants found today are named after various Foster family members and the genus Fosterella is named in honor of his work. (en)
