- Der Hæstiréttur ist das oberste Gericht Islands mit Sitz in Reykjavík. Sitz des Gerichts ist seit 1996 an der Adresse Lindargata 2 in Reykjavík. Das Gericht wurde 1920 im Zuge der Unabhängigkeit von Dänemark errichtet und trat an die Stelle des Højesteret in Kopenhagen. Der Hæstiréttur gehört neben den Bezirksgerichten und dem Appellationsgericht Landsréttur zur seit 2018 dreistufig ausgebildeten isländischen Judikative. Daneben kann für die Ahndung von Amtsverletzungen amtierender oder abgelöster isländischer Regierungsmitglieder der Sondergerichtshof Landsdómur einberufen werden. (de)

- La Cour suprême d'Islande (islandais: Hæstiréttur Íslands) est le sommet du pouvoir judiciaire en Islande et le tribunal de dernier ressort. Neuf juges siègent à la Cour. La Cour suprême fut fondée à la suite de l'acte 22/1919, et la première session se tint le 16 février 1920, un peu plus d'un an après la proclamation du Royaume d'Islande. Jusqu'à cette date, la Cour suprême du Danemark à Copenhague, fut l'ordre juridictionnel le plus élevé. (fr)
- The Supreme Court of Iceland (Icelandic: Hæstiréttur Íslands, lit. Highest Court of Iceland) is the final court of appeal in the judiciary of Iceland. It is also the oldest of the current courts of law in Iceland and the highest of the three Icelandic court branches, the others being the District Courts of Iceland and the Court of Appeal (Landsréttur). Notwithstanding the Court not being mentioned by name in the Constitution of Iceland, but only its justices, it is validated in the Courts Act No. 50/2016. The Supreme Court of Iceland is located at the Dómhúsið (Courthouse) at Arnarhóll in Reykjavík, a building that was specially built for that purpose and that came into use in 1996. The current President of the court is Benedikt Bogason. (en)
