Singapore Red Cross launches appeal to help Hurricane Katrina victims
By May Wong, Channel NewsAsia

The Singapore Red Cross is appealing to members of the public to help victims of Hurricane Katrina in the US.

It requests for monetary donations only.

The Singapore Red Cross said in a statement the funds would go towards helping displaced and homeless victims through its counterpart in the US.

The public can address their cheques to the Singapore Red Cross Society.

Donors should state "Hurricane Katrina" on the back of the cheque, including their name, address and telephone number.

The cheques can also be dropped off at the Red Cross House at 15 Penang Lane. - CNA /ch
