- The Black Widowers is a fictional men-only dining club created by Isaac Asimov for a series of sixty-six mystery stories that he started writing in 1971. Most of the stories were first published in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, though a few first appeared in Fantasy & Science Fiction, Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, and the various book collections into which the stories were eventually gathered. Asimov wrote "there are few stories I write that I enjoy as much as I enjoy my Black Widowers." (en)

- I Vedovi Neri è un club immaginario creato da Isaac Asimov per una serie di brevi racconti gialli che egli iniziò a scrivere dal 1971. La maggior parte dei racconti furono pubblicati nell'Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine. I racconti seguono sempre la stessa convenzione: i sei membri del club ed un ospite si riuniscono a cena, serviti dall'incomparabile cameriere Henry Jackson, anche lui membro onorario dei Vedovi Neri. Durante la cena l'ospite propone sempre un che i membri del club provano a risolvere, ma solo Henry vede la corretta (e di solito molto semplice) soluzione. I Vedovi Neri è basato su un che Asimov cita come il ; i membri dei Vedovi sono basati su persone reali di tale club, alcuni di loro famosi scrittori:

* Emmanuel Rubin (Lester del Rey)
