- Die Beratende Versammlung (arabisch مجلس الشورى Madschlis asch-Schura, DMG Maǧlis aš-Šūrā) ist die beratende Körperschaft des Emirats Katar, eingeführt mit einem Verfassungsreferendum im Jahr 2003. Sie hat beratende Funktion, keine legislative Gewalt. Diese liegt beim Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, welcher zugleich auch Chef der katarischen Exekutive und Judikative ist. Die Beratende Versammlung hat 45 Mitglieder, davon werden 30 gewählt und 15 vom Emir ernannt. Die Wahlen wurden in der Vergangenheit mehrmals verschoben, zuletzt mit dem Machtwechsel zum gegenwärtigen Emir 2013. Die Mandatsperiode, in der nur vom Emir ernannte Mitglieder dienen, wurde durch ein Dekret bis zum Ende des Juni 2016 verlängert. Following the 2021 Qatari general election, it has 30 elected members and 15 appointed members. The body can only question the prime minister, who is appointed by the Emir of Qatar, on his policies if two-thirds of the members agree, which is unlikely given that one-third of the members are appointed by the Emir.
