New Navy Commander appointed

 

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Vice Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The President handed over the letter of appointment to the new officer at the Presidential Secretariat on July 10.

Vice Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne is the 20th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Mr. Wijegunaratne joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1980 and he was the former Navy Chief of Staff.
