This demonstrates that clearly describing intentions is the new journey from idea (captured in your notes) to runnable code. Historically, this was a checkered journey comprising the following steps: 1. Problem to be solved. 2. App coding—where app code and structured data are typically tightly rather than loosely coupled. 3. App testing. 4. Lots of iterations between steps 3 and 2—since the individual who understands the problem isn’t the one writing the code. 5. Eventual rollout. 6. Bug reporting and maintenance cycle. 7. App stabilizes (rarely) or is replaced, and the process starts all over again. It’s a totally new world for the structured data representation aspect of all software applications, as depicted in the attached image. Fundamentally, #ChatGPT is able to function as an ontology store for reuse and recall when tasked with structured data generation operations. This is just another example of why #LLM-based chatbots (Smart Agents) are the equivalent of the browser during the #Web inflection era (one that we are exiting fast), in addition to the symbiotic relationship they have with longstanding notions such as a Semantic Web, Semantic Indexes, Semantic Layers, and Knowledge Graphs. What is an ontology? An ontology simply offers a human- and machine-computable structured definition of entity types and entity relationship types associated with a worldview (or discourse realm). Typically, they are associated with themes such as the notion of a Semantic Web, Semantic Indexes, Semantic Layers, and Knowledge Graphs. What does this mean for an end-user or power-user? ChatGPT is a powerful personal assistant for transforming and storing information you encounter in personal (or enterprise) databases or knowledgebases; think of it as bookmarking on steroids. What does this mean for developers? The tedium typically associated with structured data representation is removed, reducing prior hurdles for developing agents, apps, and services that are loosely (rather than tightly) coupled with structured data.
