- Das Deutsche Musikarchiv (DMA) der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (DNB) in Leipzig ist der zentrale Sammlungsort für veröffentlichte Notenausgaben und Musiktonträger in Deutschland. Es ist zugleich das musikbibliografische Informationszentrum Deutschlands. Das Archiv sammelt Notenmaterialien und Tonaufnahmen und stellt diese zur Nutzung bereit. Basis der Sammlung sind die Veröffentlichungen deutscher Notenverlage und Labels. Seine Arbeit ist Teil des Auftrages der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek, „Medienwerke […] im Original zu sammeln, zu inventarisieren, zu erschließen und bibliografisch zu verzeichnen, auf Dauer zu sichern und für die Allgemeinheit nutzbar zu machen sowie zentrale bibliothekarische und nationalbibliografische Dienste zu leisten“. It is a Federal agency founded in 1970, tasked with collecting all music published in the country. Publishers of printed and recorded music in Germany are required by law (since 1973) to deliver two copies of every edition as legal deposits to the archive. The DMA constitutes a department of the German National Library, Leipzig (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek). (en)

È un'agenzia federale fondata nel 1970, incaricata di raccogliere tutta la musica pubblicata nel paese. Gli editori di musica stampata e registrata in Germania sono tenuti per legge (dal 1973) a consegnare due copie di ogni edizione, come depositi legali, nell'archivio.
