The Moogseum was officially opened on August 15, 2019, with a multi-day ceremony in Asheville, NC including presentations by sonic pioneers Herb Deutsch and Larry Fast, and interviews and performances by Patrick Moraz and . Moog, an electrical engineer and American pioneer of electronic musical instruments like the Theremin and the Moog Synthesizer, left an indelible mark on the music industry. His instruments have been included in recordings by Wendy Carlos, Keith Emerson, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Yes and a host of others.
